No one understands a physician’s needs better than another physician. ComplyMD’s founder, Dr. Lucian Newman, is a practicing general surgeon and a nationally recognized speaker on physician documentation and coding.

Realizing that current dictation technology allows for documentation and billing errors, Dr. Newman, built a team of specialists and developed a new approach.

Our Team

  • Lucian Newman, III, M.D., FACS, Founder/Chief Medical Officer

    Dr. Lucian Newman is a fourth generation, board-certified physician. Currently practicing General Surgery in Gadsden, Alabama, he serves on the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Alabama Physician Advisory Board. During his residency in Atlanta, Georgia, (1988-1993) Dr. Newman was involved with an innovative research project in laparoscopic procedures, later traveling the globe teaching and performing new laparoscopic procedures. He served on the International Advisory Board for Eli Lilly/Origin MedSystems from 1993-1998. Dr. Lucian Newman has authored/co-authored more than 30 articles and 5 textbooks. He is a nationally recognized speaker on physician documentation and coding. He is a three-time National Amputee Golf Association champion.

  • Alston Noah, Chief Executive Officer

    Alston is a serial entrepreneur and has led a breadth of technology-based business solutions. In 1989, Alston co-founded The Pinnacle Group that provided systems integration, consulting, and business solutions to the manufacturing, distribution, finance, and human resource sectors. The Pinnacle Group’s revenues was acquired by Computer Science Corporation (NYSE: CSC) in 1997. Alston co-founded EVault, Inc., a provider of online data protection and recovery solutions in 2001. EVault specialized in Health Information Management, storage and retrieval being acquired by Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX) in 2006. Alston currently serves on the boards of Reliance Bank and Crafton Communications, LLC, and is a mentor in the Birmingham Entrepreneur Accelerator Program. Mr. Noah graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

  • Jim Orrison, Chief Operating Officer

    Jim delivers on the commitments made by ComplyMD. He is responsible for the Service Implementation Teams, Product Engineering and Account Managers. His experience includes VP Corporate Development, COO and General Manager of several professional services companies with a track record of company growth and successful project delivery. Jim is involved in the Birmingham business community and has an MBA from Samford University and Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering from Auburn University.
